| Mar. 29th, 2007 02:04 pm Megapost! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!!!!!!!!!!! Dana yelled at me for not posting, with good reason, so here I go.
I´m in the computer lab at my university (ICADE - or Universidad Pontificia de Comillas) and I´m kinda confused because livejournal is currently in spanish. So I hope I don´t accidentally delete this post. Let´s see. I just got out of my spanish class, where we talked about how uncomfortable it can be to get patted down by airport security, and I´m just checking my email and junk before I head to my apt to pack! Tomorrow I leave for spring break and I am sooooooo excited. First I am flying to Prague for 2 days. From there I take a train to Budapest, and stay another 2 days. Then I head into Croatia. We make a short stop in Zagreb, then continue on to Split for a day, and then Dubrovnyk for 4 days. Then we have a ridiculous 11 hour bus ride back to Zagreb to fly back to Madrid.
So I´m really sorry that I haven´t been updating. I had been typing up notes on all my trips and stuff for about 2 weeks so I could just make one massive comprehensive post, but then it got stolen. So, that´s gone. But I´ll try again!
Ok, so places I´ve been, in somewhat chronological order:
Back in January, I went to El Escorial, which is a huge monastery/palace near Madrid. It was a group excursion planned by the school with the entire Tulane bunch. It´s really really cool. All of the former kings and queens of Spain are in the tomb there. I thought it was strange that there were a lot of copies of paintings there. Previous kings would pay artists to make copies of things they liked, and the originals are in the Museo del Prado, in Madrid. We also went to Valle de los Caídos, or Valley of the Fallen. It is a basilica built by the dictator Franco to commemorate the dead after the Civil War. It´s really ironic, because he used slave labor to build it, and it is this really imposing structure. You feel tiny and intimidated when you walk through it. The church itself is like, built inside a nountain, and on top of it is a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge cross that you can see for miles. It´s pretty impressive. Franco is buried there; there is a plaque on the floor over his grave (right in front of the altar)and apparantly people often come by and stomp and spit on his grave.
I also went to the royal summer palace in Aranjuez, but since it was winter, it was kinda lame. The gardens were dead, and the museum was alright. But I did have a hilarious time in the bathrooms with Rossy.
My first trip out of SPain was to Milan. We stayed in a hostel kinda far from the city center, but learned the metro system pretty fast. Compared to the awesome Madrid metro, it was kinda shady and dirty, but it did the trick. The Duomo, a cathedral, was really really cool. You can climb up to the roof and see the view. The food was awesome, and we made some friends in the hostel, so we had a great time.
Next, I went to Amsterdam. I´d like to tell you about it, but I don´t really remember much. Just kidding. It was amazing. I liked it a lot more than Milan. The canals were really cool, the people were really nice, and the atomosphere was great. There were so many restaurants and candy stores everywhere (I wonder why) and all were really good. Dutch pancakes are delicious. I went to the Anne Frank house, which was pretty memorable. I also went to the redlight district and saw a sex show. Memorable too, in a very different way.
The next week I went to Paris! My flight was really really early, so I couldn´t take the metro there in the morning. Instead I went the night before at like midnight, and camped out in the airport. The airport I flew in to is really really far from the city. It´s like a hour and a half bus ride. I went there alone, and met up with one of my best friends Rachel, and Heather and Jesse. While I was waiting alone, Iw as sitting on a bench reading a book when this man walks up to me and startes spèaking french. I told his that I didn´t speak any french, so he switched to some mangled english. From what I understood, he wanted a piece of my hair, because he was going to make a Marionette puppet. Big fun. But really, it was great. We went to the top of the Eiffel Tower, which was beautiful at night because they light it up so it looks like fairy dust being sprinkled all over. We went to Notre Dame, the Louvre, Champs Elysee, and everything. Heather´s uncle had some friends living in Paris, so we went to dinner at their house one night. The guy came to pick us up at our hotel and drove us to his house. On the way, he drove aroudn the city to point out sites. Turns out he was in the military police, and the family lived in the barracks just south of Paris. His family was so so so nice, and the food was great. Turns out fois gras is pretty good. Afterwards, his daughter called up a bar and made us reservations, and then the father drove us there. The bar was really nostalgic, and played a constant stream of cartoon opening sequences on the tv. (Care Bears, Rainbow Bright, Duck Tales, etc.) They also served all the drinks in baby bottles. It was really fun.
Nexxxxxxxxt.... I went to Segovia, not too far from Madrid. I went with my roommates, Eva, Aurelie, and Emelie, and also with another girl from Tulane, Jen. Segovia is famous for it´s castle. It is supposedly Walt Disney´s inspiration for the castle in Sleeping Beauty. We also went to a strange little house museum of a poet named Antonio Machado. The tour was.. fascinating. It was in spanish of course, and we got to see the bed where he slept, and the table where he ate. Not to mention a photo of his wife. It was really, very envigorating.
I went back to El Escorial at some point in March with Aurelie. We almost got lost looking for a Burger King afterwards, and then ate at the worst restaurant I have ever been to. But we had a lot of fun.
I went to Valencia for Las Fallas, a festival where each neighborhood builds huge paper mache figures, and at the end, at the cremá, they burn them all. It was crazy. There were parades full of people dressed in traditional costumes, and carrying flowers to be put onto this giant wooden frame. When it was filled, it looked like a huge virgin mary with a dress made of flowers. People were setting of firworks constantly in the streets, and there were bands playing. Valencia is famous for it´s Paella and Horchata, so I had both. We also went to the beach, and later watched the best fireworks I have ever seen.
Other than that, I´ve been mainly just hanging around Madrid, going to art museums, and watching movies dubbed in spanish. There are some really great art exhibits here right now. Chuck Close, MC Escher, Roy Lichtenstein... Not to mention the huge permanent collections of Picasso, El Greco, and more.
hmm.. what else....
Oh, every monday, Eva and I have a tradition of having a themed dinner together. One week it was mexican, so we ate tacos and guacamole with mexican music and coronas. (they call them coronitas here, but its the same thing.) Portuguese night we had bacalao with potatos, and portuguese music. Ukrainian night I made stuffed cabbage, but we didn´t have any ukrainian music, so instead we listend to madonna. It´s pretty ridiculous.
Ok, I´m out of words right now. I hope this helps make up for my lateness!!!

| Feb. 1st, 2007 10:18 am I'm tryyyyyyyyying I just wrote a whole long post, and it got lost. Arrrggh!!! I'll try to remember it all.
OK, so I think I started with some spanish greeting.. like... !Hola! except with more pizazz. !Hola mis queridos amigos! ... That might have been it.
Since my last post, my computer has decided that the wireless signal that my roommates have been mooching for quite some time now, just doesn't cut it. So, the internet has been somewhat elusive to me. Whenever I can get online, its been very very sss...sl....lll...ooo...oww...w and livejournal (no offense) hasn't been my top priority. But Tim Gunn has been my inspiration, and I've developed an ingenious scheme to make it work. Although, so far it seems to have its bugs. (See first sentence)
So where to begin? How about my apartment, or as the spaniards say, mi piso. I am living in a piso really close to the university with 8 random people. It's actually a pretty cool experience. My room is tiny, my bed wiggles, and I have to use the closet in the hallway because there isn't space for one in here, but I'm still enjoying it. The curtain on the window and the matching tablecloth on my "desk" depict rolling hills with little trees and farmhouses. I have a bookshelf where I put my clothes, and a nightstand that doesn't fit anywhere near my bed, so instead is near the table. Oh, and I cant forget my folding chair. It...um...folds.
Up until now, my roommates have been: - A portuguese biology student, Eva - A german guy, Dominic - A french couple, whose names I can't fathom how to spell. Except I'll try anyway, since I have no shame in butchering foreign languages. Elodie and Julian, or something close to that. - A polish couple, Yatzik and Eva - 2 mexican girls, Raquel, who is the shiznit, and "the other one."
It's been a really fun group so far. Everyone speaks spanish to each other, albeit with their respective accents. I hadn't been feeling too comfortable with my spanish for a while, so I've been speaking in english, and they respond in spanish. It's actually kind of surprising how much spanish I understand. Overall conversation has actually been relatively effortless.
SO some of my roommates have moved out, since their semester just ended. THe french couple left, and it was saaaad. But the very next morning, they were replaced by 2 new french girls - Emilie and...um..I'm going to have to get her to write it down for me. The mexican girl left too. Apparently there was some sort of outburst when she left, but I didn't hear it because I had my headphones on in my room. Raquel leaves today. The polish couple are leaving in a week. SO there is a massive change in group dynamics about to happen. The remaining 4 spots are supposed to be filled by another french couple, and 2 Hungarian girls. Friggin Crazy.
Man, I don't remember what I wrote at this point... hmm....
Next weekend I'm going to Milan!! Exciting! And I'm also booking a trip to Amsterdam the first week of February. I'm soooo excited. aaahhh.
Ok, well, that's all I got for now.

| Jan. 15th, 2007 06:22 am Let the adventure begin... Hey guys! I decided to attempt keep everyone in the loop of my travels this semester, so here goes! For those who don't know, I'm spending this next semester in Spain, and hopefully I'll be travelling constantly around Europe while I'm out here.
I arrived here in Madrid yesterday morning. I flew in on Air Lingus via Dublin, so I had a great time people watching and listening to all Irish accents on the way over. I have to admit that I was somewhat dissappointed that the only Irish thing in the meal was the butter. Once I landed, I took a cab to the hotel to meet up with Eddie and Rossy. (Eddie=my brother, Rossy=his girl) Since then, all we've really done is nap, eaten some paella, sleep some more, wander around, and eat sandwiches. Actually, right now they're napping again. I got a cell phone out here, so if you have some sort of amazing long distance plan, let me know and I'll give you my number. I'm in the process of tracking down an apartment right now - I've got it narrowed down to 3 choices. Exciting no? Oh and all 3 of the them have internet, so that's exciting.
Anyway, I'll update more once some other stuff happens. :)

| Sep. 26th, 2005 04:24 pm I'm having a good day. Nothing particularly good has happened, and I haven't done anything, but I'm in a good mood. Random, but I'll take it.
Speaking of random, I got a package from home today. It included a unstuffed-teddy bear, a plain black belt,a tee shirt, a bunch of underwear, and a homemade card from my sister that said "hi, hello, i miss you." Except it had a lot of excalmation points. Random, yes. But I love it.
Yesterday, Justine and I spent about... 7 hours in starbucks studying. It's not as comfy or as conducive to studying as PJ's was last year, but I suppose it'll do. We also spent a bunch of time this weekend wandering around alleyways and moving trash around for Justine's photography projects. People make the funniest faces and poses when they realize you may be taking a picture of them as they drive by.
The two songs that have been replaying themselves over and over continuosly in my head are 'Konstantine' by Something Corporate and (I kid you not) 'Get Em High' by Kanye West. Haha. My mind confuses me sometimes. 3 comments - Leave a comment

| Sep. 17th, 2005 06:05 pm Matthew 7:12 I still think you're the only person to read this, Dana. So for you: an update!
So Thursday night, as Justine and I were walking home from a restaurant/hookah bar called Sinbad's, these three guys walked up to us asking if we would buy tickets to their concert. Justine said she had no cash, and if she saw an atm, she totally would've bought some. Convienently, one of them pointed out an atm just a little bit down the block, so tickets were bought. The guys (Cree, Shane, and Luke) actually seemed like cool guys, so the next night we walked over to the concert and met up with them. The band, named The City's Threnody, turned out to be pretty good and embarassingly dedicated their last song to us.
Today, we decided to try out the bus system and head to the mall. We walked a crapload to the bus stop that would take us right there. We stopped at Jack-in-the-Box for some burgers on the way. So anyway, while we were at the bus stop, this woman came over to wait too. She starting mumbling and talking to herself, and was starting to get really shady. Eventually she just wandered away just as an old man came to wait too. Justine and I started laughing, and the man asked if that woman had a problem, and we said yea. Just a few momwnts later, the old man started repeating things like "yardsale, yardsale, yardsale..." and "carwash, carwash, carwash...." We finally got on the bus, and some other old man sitting across from me told me that I looked familiar. Thinking he was just trying to start a conversation, and be a nice old guy, I gave him my attention. He said something about how he judges women by their walk, and asked how I jusdged men. I probably looked kinda confused, and then he started quoting the bible, and refering to the people on the bus as 'ladies and gentlemen of the jury.' Then I started ignoring him. So yea, the bus is shady. But hey, it only costs a dollar.
After wandering the mall a few times, we took a cab back. And that's that. Fun stuff. Oh and I saw an awesome Boondock Saints shirt that I almost bought for you, but it was much too small.
Tune in to the tomorrow's thrilling adventure: THE SUPERMARKET! 3 comments - Leave a comment

| Sep. 13th, 2005 08:08 pm I MISS MY DANA! So I promised Dana that I would keep this updated with my random life, and damnit, I keep my promises! (sometimes)
SO here goes. Since Katrina was a mean biyatch and totally messed up New Orleans, I am now going to the University of Arizona, here in Tucson. Justine and I are sharing an apartment with a 22 year old guy named Renee. We actually met him once, yesterday. (I moved in on Thursday.) But anyway, he seems cool enough, and we have private entrances with locks on our doors, so whateva.
I went to class for the first time today. One of my professors gave me a hug. It was nice.
I'm sleepy.. even though it's like 8 o'clock here, so I'm gonna sign off.
More to come soon! 3 comments - Leave a comment

| May. 16th, 2005 04:52 pm Oh phooey, I burned the darned muffins I'm ba-ack.
- I got back to Brooklyn on Wednesday. I spent the night playing with my nephew at my brother's place and watching Starsky and Hutch.
- Thursday, I saw Shany and Rachel, and we hung out making wraps and eating ice cream. Aw...I love my girls. :)
- Shany and I joined Lee and her friend for dinner on Friday night. We ate at some random italian joint in the village, after spending hours driving around lower Manhattan in general looking for parking.
- When we woke up on Saturday morning, we went on a quest to find a bat-mitzvah present that Shany needed to get. We wandered around Chinatown for a while, before ending up in SoGood jewelery on Bway -- home of the most shiny objects to be distracted by. Seriously. Can't walk past without going "Ooooh! Shiny!" and walking in. It's true. We plan to go back and wander the flea markets and stuff down in Soho when we actually have money to burn.
- Saturday night, I hung out with Lee's buddies. We made a supermarket run and found lots of amazing things, like pirogies, brie, Emeril's brand salsa, and even bread in a can! They all went bowling, but I stayed in and watched Fiddler on the Roof on PBS.
- Sunday morning I managed to get a little more PBS action in by watching a bit of a James Dean documentary while waiting for Lee to get ready to go get breakfast.
- Sunday night I got to see James! yay!
- Now it's Monday... right? Um.. Shany brought me tacos! (Cuz she looooves me)
That's about it. 4 comments - Leave a comment

You're New York!
Well after the rest of the world had moved on, you were still obsessively discussing September 11th. Even now, it feels like it's September 12th to you. Though stuck in this traumatic rut, still unable to sleep, you've been able to continue to pursue some primary interests, such as using public transportation, scraping the sky, and trading stocks. When you trade baseball cards, you make sure to swindle everyone around you and pretend that the system is fair. You feel like you know Hillary Clinton, even though she's a complete stranger.
Take the State Quiz at the Blue Pyramid.
I am thoroughly offended by this description! It is so ridiculously the opposite of me, and that is so not NY at all.

| Apr. 18th, 2005 05:25 pm Sushi isn't made of sumo wrestlers So yay, my computer's been fixed for a while now (thanks Randy!) so I can get back to attempting to actually update this thing.
This weekend was pretty fantastic. It started early this week. On Friday morning, I got up bright and early at 7:30 to get my writing paper all nice and done for my scheduled conference with my prof at 9:40. I crawled out of bed and headed out to the PJ's under Stern. (it's a coffee place on the academic quad, for any non-tulanians that read this. ;) See, I got your backs. Cuz I love you like that.) I caffeinated myself thoroughly with a double espresso and sugar-highed with a giant chocolate muffin - it was delicious like only PJ's can make it. After making much progress in my paper about the death penalty, and stopping occasionally to laugh at the hordes of prospective students touring campus, and walked over to Norman Mayer - the english dept building where my prof's office is. I was still like 20 minutes early, but I decided to wait out in front of her room in an effort to gain some brownie points, and possibly get done with the whole process a little sooner. Of course when I got there, there was a sign on the door notifying me that all conferences on Friday were canceled. So I got out of bed early for....no reason. At all.
At this point, I was already hyper from breakfast, so there was no possibility of going back to sleep. So I just hung out for a while. My spanish class that day was cancelled too, so my friday was all free. :) yay.
Movie night was fun! Amy and I were on a mission in Butler, where we ended up hanging out with Paul and his roomie Steve-O. (I think Steve-O's real name is Dave, but I'm not sure. Amy?) Fun stuff. At some point, Amy, Paul, and I were standing outside the room when we heard something that sounded like popcorn popping. Amy said, "Hey Paul, I thought you didn't have a microwave." He responded, "I don't." Then we stood around confused. We then found James, who was recovering from his 36 hour study binge and insisted we watch 'Closer' with him. Great movie! The dialogue is kinda weird, but the delivery is really powerful. I approve. On the way back to our rooms, Amy and I got distracted and decided to order pizza. I wonder how long we can go before Dominos insists on actually seeing our 'free cheesy bread' coupon before filling our tummies with free cheesy goodness.
Justine came over, and the three of us decided to take a walk to Hagen Daz for some tasty treats. Baily's milkshake -- mmmmm. We ran into Walgreens to find Justine a new sling for her arm (she seperated her shoulder at the judo tournament last week.) Instead, we each got some hair dye and had a dying party in the bathroom. Justine's hair is now dark burgundy, Amy's is fire-engine red, and mine is orange-y reddish. I think my color was named 'Copper Spritz." Mine and Amy's are semi-permanent, so it should only last maybe a month. The directions said leave in in for 25 minutes, unless your hair is already color treated, in which case only leave it in for 5 minutes. Amy, with pre-colored hair, left it in for 30 minutes. Like I said, fire-engine. It looks awesome.
Other highlights of the weekend: - Watched 'Virgin Suicides' with Justine - Watched 'Never Been Kissed' with D-Money - Went to Judo practice on Saturday morning -- but I was the only one there, so didn't get to do anything - Randomly found out about a fundraising school fair/Crawfish Boil a couple blocks away from campus and volunteered wth Amy for 3 hours. We ran the putt-putt booth and played with a bunch of little kids. SO cute. - Studied at PJ's a bunch - Had a dinner date at Le Gourmet with Dana and Justine. - Watched a billion episodes of 'Pimp my Ride' while laundry-ing in Doris with Justine.
Good weekend. :)
Now I've got a logic quiz in about an hour, so I ought to study.

| Mar. 5th, 2005 12:22 pm A Common Occurrence Randomly placed in an AIM convo --
Reginka: While i was working as an Intern in the Paris Hilton, i was constantly aware of the fact that there were 5 circus elephants outside of the hotel. I slowly made my way out and told them to get out of my real property under the statute of "negligence per se." One of the elephants (i presume he was from the Bronx) responded, "yo girlfriend don't be waving your law jargon around me like that foo." I responded that no, i would not give him my nucleopeptides and no, he had no write to insult my disaccharides in such a manner. All of a sudden, out of thin air, appeared ellen degeneres and started doing the 1,2 step. I happily danced with her until the host of the reading rainbow came and told me that the teletubbies have been cancelled. This had a huge impact on my life and the theory of social darwinism.

| Feb. 26th, 2005 04:29 pm The Best Sport EVER! Amy and I set out this morning, er, scratch that, afternoon to go watch Allen's first rugby game. Of course, I was ridiculously slow to get ready and completely spaced out in the shower so we were late. When we got there we saw no rugby going on, so instead we stayed and watched our first ever lacrosse game. It was awesome! I seriously think that it is my new favorite sport. The game was Tulane vs Texas State, and the only people there were cheering for Texas. haha. Our plan is to learn all about the game so we can properly heckle and cheer. The best we could do today was "Yea #24! Whack him with the stick!"
Afterwards we went over to the Reily center to watch the gymnastics competition. Every year Tulane hosts the Jazz Invitational at the gym. There were all these little girls who were seriously awesome athletes. It was cool. Amy stayed to watch and I went to PJ's to get some coffee with Justine. It was fun. At some point I even got hit in the head by a soccer ball. Yea, at the coffee place, that's right. I went back to my room and started this post, but didn't finish it. Instead, I met up with Amy, Eric, & Jay to celebrate Subway Day- the day in which we risk our lives playing frogger to cross Claiborne Ave. and eat fantastic sandwiches at Subway. When we got there, Amy and I decided we were actually in the mood for pizza, so we called up Dominos from the comfort of a booth in Subway and ordered cheesy bread and a mushroom pizza. We then make the treacherous walk across the parking lot to pick up our pizza. Eric bought School of Rock from Blockbuster and we joined Dana in her room to watch it. Right now she is sitting in my room and telling me how the women's basketball team just won their game by like 30 points. yay for them.

| Feb. 25th, 2005 07:27 pm A Friday of Champions! I feel clean! I just took my second shower of the day. I felt that I could need it after Judo practice. Judo went well! I'm an idiot and thought that it started a half hour later than it actually did, so I was massively confused when everyone was well into practice when I showed up. Boo to me. Since I basically missed all the warm-ups and stuff like that, I went straight into practicing throws. I have to start being more aggressive, and follow through on all my attempts at throws. I sorta just stop, and I'm not sure why. Someone actually managed to crack my back during a throw, which I haven't been able to do for like a year and a half. Then we practiced mat work, and I learned a couple ways to get out of pins. After a while I was so worn out, I started seeing spots. But I will get into shape. Yes, yes I will. GRR. So anyway, I head out at the water break, along with a few other people. Oh, and I finally bought my Gi! It's humongous and needs to be shrunk in the washing machine this weekend, but it's mine and it's fantastic. Tonight is MOVIE NIGHT! We're planning on going to the TUCP movie (Tulane University Campus Programming, for you non-Tulanians. side note: Is Tulanian an actual term, or did I just make that up?) They are playing Ocean's Twelve tonight. And for $2 you can't really go wrong. The only thing that I don't like about all that is that the acoustics of the McAlister Auditorium suck. I watched I <3 Huckabees there and got really pissed off by the sound. I'm usually really good at putting my mind into movies, but I had a hard time. Great movie, by the way. Either way, the movies will go on! May movie night never go uncelebrated!
So what else? Hmm. Let's see. I spent waaaaaay too much time today at Bruff. It started innocently enough. Dana and I went to get lunch/meal #1 after my only class of the day at about 1 o'clock. We ran into Caroline, Bree, and Scuba there and sat at a table that was much too small. After a while, Randy showed up all dressed up for his RA interview. We sat around and gossiped about everything and everyone. After about an hour and a half we left. That's too much time in Bruff right there, but it gets crazier. Right when we got back to my room I got a phone call from Amy asking me to go with her to Bruff. I tried to say no, but we all know how much that seems to work. In an attempt to show good will, Dana and I went. After that, Amy started heading to Butler and said we weren't invited. So we picked up some newspapers and followed behind her into the building and almost into the elevator covering our faces and giggling. A girl on the street stopped to tell us that we "looked really weird walking down the street like that." Best comment of the day! We let Amy go upstairs by herself and sat down in the quad behind the dorm to read our newspapers. Wow was this issue boring. Aw, poor Hullabaloo! We were spotted by Jay who came over and sat with us for a while before I head to Judo. Hey, this post came full circle! Maybe this would be a good time to end it!
Here I go!
The END.

| Feb. 17th, 2005 11:13 am Hey Livejournal? Are you my friend? I don't think you are. Everytime I have tried to write out a long-ass, all encompassing post, you make it disappear! Friends don't let friends lose their posts. That is just not cool. Twice I tried to write a post aptly named "A Streetcar Named Shanequa," and twice I was let down. Now no one will know the joy of Shanequa. No one.
So with that, Livejournal, and ask you to consider who you really hurt in this process. Was stabbing your trusting friend in the back really worth the pain and ignorance you caused? | Feb. 10th, 2005 09:19 pm So what day is it? That crazy long Mardi Gras weekend has left me with no concept of time at all. I think I must have asked if it was Thursday about a bazillion times today, and probably a couple times yesterday too. Mardi Gras was great, but I'm not gonna say much about it because Dana and Eric have already done fantastic jobs on their livejournals and I am much to lazy to be redundant. So instead, I skip straight to today. I woke up on time enough to get breakfast with Dana after managing to not hear my alarm at all for 40 minutes, but still hitting snooze. Psych class was taught by the TA and was fantastic. We got through ALL the material (a previously unheard-of accomplishment) and still got out 45 minutes early! I emphasize: fantaaaastic. Justine, Dana, & I spent much of the class expressing our love of one another by drawing little hearts in the air and pointing. It was beautiful. Afterwards, Justine and I wandered around the bookstore, I bought a new internet cable because I broke mine(Bad Jen,) and picked up my insanely random packages from home. Thanks Mom and Elita. And apparantly Dad too, as the return address said. I love the socks, candy, gummy hamburgers, Bart Simpson pin, eyelash curler, Valentine's Cookies, and keychain Etch-a-sketch. They were very... interesting. haha. I met up with my friend Dawn today for coffee. We used to work together at STAIR, tutoring devilish second-graders in reading, and I hadn't seen her in forever. Good times. Good coffee. I love coffee. The rest of the day was kinda hazy. There was random bouts of giggling while watching a Gilmore Girls rerun with Amy. (Jess outbid Dean for Rory's basket! OMG!) There was also plotting a Valentine's Day in Omaha to catch Ingram Hill's $4.95 concert, while watching The OC with Dana. (Can you believe what Caleb said to Ryan?) I helped Justine put studs onto her jacket, although I'm not sure that I can consider it 'help' if they fall off soon...which they probably will. Also, at some point today I was randomly surfing through friends' livejournals, and their friends' livejournals and so on until I found a really good poem by someone I don't know, but who goes to my high school. I remembered that I took poetry in senior year, and decided to read my poems. It was hilariously funny. Most of them suck. Badly. But a couple aren't too bad. Those are the ones that I don't really remember writing. Strange how that happens.
So do I have any work for tomorrow? I should check on that, huh? Bye! Current Mood: lazy

| Feb. 1st, 2005 10:00 pm Nice N' Easy We just dyed Amy's hair! Dana is currently drying it, very professionally I may add, while I sit here trying to keep myself occupied. A few minutes ago we tried to wash out the dye in my sink, but it got backed up, so we had to make a run for the showers
Dana's taken over Jen's LiveJournal!! HAHA!!! The dying experience was um...memorable? Jen pushed Amy into the shower while trying to rinse the stuff. I think some of our neighbors think we're wierd.

| Jan. 30th, 2005 08:00 pm My first post... EVER! Hey! I decided to make a livejournal today. Isn't that exciting? What happened was that Dana was excited because we saw Chris Carmack from the OC in a movie theater this weekend, and was posting it on her livejournal. In response I said, "Hey, I'll make one just to post that information."
So here I am. I did it.
Ta-da!
Ya, so let's see if this will last. I hope it will.
Till next time... which may just be in a few minutes or a few months... ~Jen! Current Mood: mischievous
